Lakers vs Magic:
The Los Angeles Lakers are a team to be reckoned with. They have added three huge names during the off season to an already impressive lineup. They will be aiming for yet another NBA title while a number of other teams will simply be trying to reboot. The Orlando Magic are one of those teams that will be rebuilding this year. They have a number of talented players but have lost their core team from a few years ago that made a few deep runs into the playoffs. It will be an interesting year for both teams, since they have shaken things up during the off season.
One of the biggest moves in NBA involved these two teams. Dwight Howard had publically asked for a trade from the Orlando Magic, and ended up coming to the Lakers. That is the second hall of fame center that the Magic have ended up giving to the Lakers, the other one being Shaquille O'Neal. The Lakers are also adding veteran point guard Steve Nash to the lineup, which will ease the ball handling duties of Kobe Bryant, which should free him up to focus more on scoring, and feeding his two incredible big men down low. With Pau Gasol playing the power forward spot, the Lakers are not only a contender, but the favorite to bring a title back into the City of Angels . Meta World Peace and Antawn Jamison will also contribute to this all-star lineup, which may be one of the greatest teams ever assembled.
The Magic will do all they can when they play the Lakers. Big Baby Glen Davis has turned into a solid post player, and will be able to hold his own against the much taller Lakers post players. Hedo Turkoglu and Jameer Nelson will be providing the majority of the scoring for the Magic, and they will have to lead the effort for the newly remodeled team. JJ Redick is a ridiculous shooter who should be able to give a long range threat, which helps on all sides. With a good amount of talent, the Magic should be alright if they can all play together.
