Kobe Bryant's scoring output was the second greatest in the history of the NBA, only Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points 44 years ago was greater...."Not even in my dreams,"Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers said. "That was something that just happened. It's tough to explain. It's just one of those things, "It really hasn't, like, set in for me. It's about the `W,' that's why I turned it on. It turned into something special. To sit here and say I grasp what happened, that would be lying." To put in perspective how brilliant Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers performance was, we must realize that this season alone entire teams in the NBA have been held below 81 points on 88 separate occassions, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, then the NBA's leading scorer, left to a standing ovation with 4.2 seconds remaining, having shot a sizzling 28-of-46 from the floor, including 7-of-13 from 3-point range, and 18-of-20 from the foul line. The Los Angeles Lakers trailed the Toronto Raptors 63-49 at halftime despite Kobe Bryant's 26 points as Mike James who finished with a team high 26 points and Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors led the way, and the Toronto Raptors extended the advantage to 18 points in the third quarter, but their on out Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers caught fire and was simply relentless as he poured in 27 points the periodto help give the Los Angeles Lakers a six point lead at 91-85 heading into the the fourth period....In the final quarter Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers scored 28 of the 31 points to put away the Toronto Raptors, in all he poured in 55 points in the second half alone, "That was something to behold,"Coach Phil Jackson of the Los Angeles Lakers said. "It was another level. I've seen some remarkable games, but I've never seen one like that before It was a real treat. His ability to shoot from long range and also attack the hoop, split the defense and get in close for opportunities near the basket is unique. He's made a niche for himself and he deserves it" Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers raised his scoring average to an NBA-leading 35.9 points this season.Only four players had ever scored more than 70 -- Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor of the Los Angeles Lakers who franchise single game scoring record of 69 was broken by Bryant, David Thompson of the Denver Nuggets, and David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs.Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers put on a show that will be remembered until the end of time and will go down as one of the greatest games in NBA history, forever connecting the Lakers and Raptors: more importantly, cementing Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers as one of the best players to ever grace the hardwood, Bryant was simply sensational.

"Quite honestly, I think we can beat them and I'm looking forward to playing them." The Lakers didn't stand pat in the offseason, either, upgrading their roster with Steve Blake, Matt Barnes...
