New Orleans 105, LA Lakers 89
Chris Paul scored 26 points and had 11 rebounds in pacing the New Orleans Hornets to a 105-89 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Hornets overcame the loss of three starters to injuries to break a five-game losing streak with Wednesday's victory. Los Angeles saw a three-game winning streak end.
The Lakers stayed close to New Orleans most of the way with a shot from Kobe Bryant and a Lamar Odom lay up for Los Angeles making the score 93-87 with 5:18 to play. But the Lakers managed just one basket the rest of the way and New Orleans pulled away with more solid play.
The Hornets had a balanced attack with Paul leading the way and Rasual Butler chipping in 22 points and Jannero Pargo haunting his former team with 21 points.
Bryant led the Lakers with 24 points.
